Autumnal 'Awe'someness

A little nod there to my lovely old colleague Keith, who sadly died last autumn and who's favourite word was awesome, everything was awesome and he lived his life in the awe of aweseomness- RIA Keith- Rest in Awesomeness!
I love Autumn, controversially more than Spring.
The sea and breeze are warmer, the colours amazing and we are riding the crest of the wave that has been summer.
The impending winter creates a hive of activity and getting 'stuff done', which I love.
As the daylight hours diminish with every passing day and our appreciation of every dry, bright day is heightend too, we can prepare, like a squirrel busily hiding nuts for winter nourishment and appreciate the fading summer moments as they slip into the memory.
The first of October made me stop and reflect on all that had been this year so far and the opportunity three more months brings, differing months with an increased sense of urgency.
Some things I wanted to achieve have been let go of like a dull book that doesn't keep your interest, what is the point of persevering if there's no joy in it.
Whereas somethings I can now chanel my energy into with less distraction but as the terrain has changed it is so important to reflect first and ensure those things are still applicable, relevent and worthy of such focus.
Time is so precious afterall.
Keith's premature death and those of so many others are a constant reminder to heed the regrets of the dying as beautifully bought to us in Bronnie Ware's Book The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying
1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
So lets all take a minute to celebrate the 'autumnal awesomeness' and reflect on our goals and achievements of this year with a renewed focus on their alignment with living our best lives and realise that actually the momentum of Awesome Autumn might just be the lift we need to swim with the tide in the direction we want to go.
Sending you love and happiness Clean Cook Family.
I'm starting to save these weekly blogs, so that there's a way their words don't disppear into the obis of the virtual world, when their relevance will always have a place
